Win an Eco shower curtain from Rock Candy Life

I started cleaning up my bathroom last month, getting rid of yucky products and just an overall whole clean of it. I decided that I needed a new shower curtain, the one we had was super grungy and needed to be replaced. I didn't want to throw it away. I even tried to cut the bottom part (the grungy part) off, just to keep it a little longer. It worked for a little while.

After some serious thought, I knew I wanted to get something that was good to the earth.  I Googled eco friendly shower curtains. I came upon this sitewww.rockcandylife.com.

Super cool product , the curtains are made of 100% recyclable, chlorine and PVC free eco vinyl.  The best part was that they were really reasonably priced!

I bought the whimsical, I really love the bird print. All the shower curtains they make have metal grommets which is great because it makes the shower curtain even stronger.  It wipes down with a damp cloth.

The winner of the cowl & some thoughts

The winner of the cowl is Tanya!
I use the random.org number generator and it choose #6

I'e just started knitting and am loving it.....I now have knitting envy!? I don't think they even know what a 'cowl' is over here...a new project for me! I love number 1....tanya

Congratulations..because you are my friend on facebook I will contact you for your address  :)

I have not been posting regular recipes as of lately. This whole trip thing has consumed me. Taking care of children and cooking meals, doing errands and keeping the house semi tidy. Well, you get the idea. I did make these mini pizzas on pita bread with my tofu cheese recipe. They were super easy, and Leeluu really enjoyed assembling her own!

Most of you don't "really" know me, but I have a bit of a neurotic worry problem. There must be some kind of disorder for constantly worrying. I got it from my mom..sorry mom, but it's true.

I have been on the computer in the evenings trying to get all of our accommodations booked, this is very time consuming. I feel like I need to read all the reviews on places. Plus I think I have taken out every book from the library on Spain. Every moment I get I will read a little bit and note down the places that look fun and interesting.

Me being the worrier I have been reading a fair bit about the pick pocketing in Barcelona. I am a little scared. Don't get me wrong I feel super lucky to get to go, but I am not really use to watching my shit. Where I live I can put my bag down and walk away, it would still be there a day later. Apparently Barcelona has the worst pick pocketing in the world. Not like we are going to walk around with lots of bling on or anything. I am just worried :/

We hit the beach the other day..before it snowed. I love this photo." whatchu talkinbout willis"

I am planning a yummy dinner tonight. My friend and her little 6 month old son is coming over for a sleepover!! GIRLS NIGHT..movie and wine. Hopefully I will get a chance to post the photo and recipe of what we eat.

O yeah...keep checking back, I am having a really cool giveaway next week!!

Discovering

We went outside exploring in the yard this afternoon and discovered some new spaces. We have only lived in the house for 6 months, discovering new spots is fun. At first I thought this tree was not very pretty, its kinda straggly and needs some serious pruning. When we went underneath it we realized that it was a beauty and has some serious climbing and swinging potential.

I forgot to announce the winner for the CSN giveaway on Monday....
#8 Maria Rose, she commented " I like taking morning walks in the summer!"
I can't wait for summer...I think I have had just about enough snow. Thanks everyone for entering, I hope to do another giveaway soon.

Watermelon fizz, some pics after Earl & a PARMA winner!

We have had an amazing summer here in Nova Scotia which means lots of beach days. I have had a lot of things to take care of with the new place, and J's brother has been here for the past week helping me fix things. Which is super awesome because I am not a very good DIY person. (I tried to put an anchor in the wall to hang a picture... hammered a screwdriver into the wall, and couldn't get it out, the picture was hanging on the screwdriver.) So when J's brother came I was SO happy... he has the skills!

I made this drink a couple weeks ago and meant to post it but I have been consumed with the house. Super simple to make and refreshing. I blended up a cup worth of watermelon added carbonated mineral water and  rum...my drink of choice:P

Hurricane Earl said hello to us. It was pretty windy and a few big trees were blown down, the house is still standing :) It only lasted a few hours but we had no power for a day. After the wind calmed down I took the kids to the beach to check out the wave action...

I found this on the dock...

A few pics of our new home & Parma Giveaway!

the kitchen
I feel sorta bad that I haven't been posting any recipes...but I will soon, promise. For now our home is my focus and I thought I would share a few pictures. This is the kitchen...I really want to get it renovated, but for now it is good (ARGH! except the oven doesn't work properly!!) I really love all the natural light though :)
view from kitchen
One of the best parts about this home, it's only a quick walk to the beach. This is our view from the front of the house. I love waking up to the sparkles on the water.

front window
  little ones space

O.K. that's all I got so far...the rest of the house is messy with boxes and art I have not put up yet. So far I have been super happy here, I suspect it will get better in the winter, because we have a wood stove in the living room!! What could be better on a snowy day then curling up on the couch and warming your toes by a fire!

Alright it is time for another giveaway! The good people at  Eat in the raw sent me some PARMA vegan Parmesan to sample and give one of my lucky blog readers a chance to try some too! The kids and I tried some last night I made vegan macaroni and cheese and steamed veggies. I liked it sprinkled on the cauliflower.

The ingredients are Raw organic walnuts, red star nutritional yeast, Celtic sea salt & LOVE! (love is an actual ingredient listed!) The nutritional yeast that they use is Red Star Vegetarian Support Formula. It is the highest quality nutritional yeast available. It contains good quality protein and B vitamins, including B12, a vitamin we vegans are constantly on the lookout for!

The possibilities are endless with Parma!! So how do you get your hands on some of this...just leave a comment on what you would love to sprinkle this on. Don't forget to visit there site and read about the company!
