Blackberry & Apple Pie



I made this delicious pie last night with the wild blackberries my family and I picked.

  • 1 double pie crust
  • 4 cups blackberries
  • 3 apples- peeled and chopped
  • 3/4 cup cane sugar ( organic)
  • 1 orange-zested 
  • 2 tbsp fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1/3 cup flour
Preheat oven to 375
Roll out dough and place in pie plate.
Prick the pie dough with a fork once its in the plate, to prevent shrinking
Mix up all the ingredients together, sprinkling the flour a little at a time, no clumps.
Roll out the top layer of the pie. Seal by squishing down edges.
You can do this with a fork, my mom use to call them "making birdy feet":)
Brush the top with soy milk and sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 35-45 minutes, until golden.
