Baby Food

I have been experimenting with baby food, since my daughter is 6 months old, its time to develop her taste buds. At first I stuck with the basic rice cereal, sweet potato, banana..etc. Leeluu enjoys eating with the family so I thought I would get a bit more adventurous with her meals.

Red Lentils & sweet potato baby food

  • 1/4 cup red lentils
  • 1/4 of a sweet potato, peeled and chopped small dice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 1/4 cup of water

wash the lentils thoroughly, until the water runs clean.
put everything in a small pot, bring to a boil, simmer until lentils and potatoes are mushy.
take half the mixture and blend, add back to the pot.
(i pulled out all the potato pieces and blended that)

you can freeze what your not going to use that day in ice cube trays..or even better,
there is this gizmo that has 10 little Tupperware with lids, and fits into a tray.
You can find them at specialty baby stores.
