DIY { children's field study bag }

I made this for Leeluu for Christmas. A little messenger bag, for field study ( other wise known as a bug bag).  I used a pair of old man pants that I bought at the thrift store, and I picked up a cute little print that has sticks and squirrels on it at the fabric store. As you can see I haven't sew'n the buttons on yet...I don't have a needle kicking around. I am pretty happy with it. I am o.k. using the sewing machine, but I didn't have a pattern, and I don't use pins. I pretty much just wing it.

She loves being outside, finding frogs, worms, bugs and butterflies. I filled it with a notebook and pencil, a magnify glass, and some binoculars. I am on the hunt for a small flash-light, and would really love to find one of those small containers with the magnify on the lid....What have you made lately?

  1. Nice little bag. This year I made and framed photographs and a collage for gifts. My kids requested original art for their walls.
